- 17.04.2020: Applicants invited to apply for Ülo Pärnits Scholarship Fund grants
A scholarship fund to honour Ülo Pärnits, the founder and long-term Rector of the Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences (EUAS) was established in 2017 from which up to four grants are awarded at the total minimum amount of 10,000 euros every year. The objective of the Ülo Pärnits fund is to promote lifelong and practical education, and grants are awarded to support successful students and lecturers in their studies or research, including participation in the development of Ülemiste City as a smart future city.
In the opinion of Mait Rungi, EUAS Rector, it is especially today important to support students and lecturers: “In these current difficult times many subjects may be pushed to the background unnoticed; however, the Ülo Pärnits Scholarship Fund sees the big picture and the importance of supporting education. I believe that Ülo Pärnits would have invested into the future in hard times, particularly into education, as he considered education to be the best investment. The gifted among us should not be deprived of education because of difficult times, and with the aid of the Scholarship Fund we acknowledge and thank those who study with passion and teach with their heart – who build Estonia’s future.”
Guido Pärnits, Ülo Pärnits’ son and Chairman of the Mainor AS Supervisory Board, said that he had not met another person in his life who considered good education and consistent self-improvement to be as important as his father did: “So, it is understandable that the objective of the fund founded to commemorate him is to support good education in Estonia.”
Grants from the Ülo Pärnits Fund are awarded from the amounts donated to the Fund every year by Pärnits’ successors in Kristosten OÜ and other companies. Kristosten OÜ has made the commitment to finance the Fund with at least 10,000 euros annually. The smallest amount of one grant is 1,500 euros.

- Lecturers who support lifelong education and practical studies with their topical, interesting and methodically relevant teaching approach
