We know how to invest in stocks, gold or real estate, but there is one even more glamorous option - the film industry.
Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences and Ülemiste City, in cooperation with Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival are pleased to invite all film and investment enthusiasts to participate in a master class on November 25, 2021. The hosts invite you to join Patrick Fischer in a discussion exploring the film industry and its investment opportunities.
Patrick Fischer is a film producer and media entrepreneur. He has produced and/or executive produced over twenty films in the past decade and is one of the founding partners of the postproduction house Creativity Media and the film finance company Creativity Capital. Patrick Fischer was voted one of the TOP100 “individuals who have brought the most influence, innovation and inspiration to the British Creative and Media industries” by Screen and TimeOut.
The master class takes place at the Öpik Conference Center and will be in two parts. The morning session (from 9.30 till 12.45) will dive into film production and distribution, to understand how the film business evolved to its current form and how content is financed, produced and monetized. Only once the business of film is understood the film financing and investment can be explored properly. In this section the real-world scenarios will be analyzed interactively with the participants to broaden their understanding.
After a relaxed lunch, the afternoon session (from 13.30 till 17.00) will focus on investing in the film industry. In this session Patrick Fischer will explore different investment opportunities within the film value chain, from project finance to business finance. The risk and returns of different financing types will be analysed, from venture capital and debt finance to corporate investment. Furthermore, the close look at the film industry at present and the key trends that will shape its future to identify and weigh-up investment opportunities will be given.
