  • 09.11.2021: Questions and answers about the composition and effect of the vaccines
  • 27.10.2021: Prevention of the COVID-19 virus spread

Indicated below is an overview of mandates to prevent the spread of COVID-19:

    • To guarantee safe learning activities on the university premises, we expect every university student and faculty member to be either fully vaccinated and wearing a mask. Vaccination may not provide absolute protection against the coronavirus, but it greatly reduces the likelihood of infection as well as severe illness caused by the coronavirus. Information regarding vaccination options is available at the website.
    • Wearing a mask is mandatory in indoor spaces on university premises. There are no exceptions to this rule. Lecturers as well as administrative employees are entitled to tell a university student not wearing a mask to leave the class and vacate the university premises. Wearing a mask decreases the spread of the coronavirus as well as the risk of infection and also protects those who have not yet been fully vaccinated or who cannot be vaccinated for health reasons. Masks are available for purchase from the vending machine on the second floor of the Tallinn Study Centre (situated at the student area) and from the educational specialist’s room at the Tartu Study Centre (first floor).
    • You are welcome at the university if you are healthy and without symptoms. In case of any symptoms, both vaccinated and unvaccinated students and teachers must stay home and consult with their family physician at the first available opportunity.
    • Regardless of whether you are vaccinated or have had COVID-19 no more than 180 days ago, we ask you to stay at home in self-isolation and not go to school if you have daily contact with a person infected with COVID-19 (for example, in a family and etc.).
    • We ask you to sit as far apart as possible in classes and avoid group gatherings during breaks in small spaces (hallways, student areas, the library and so on). We suggest walking outside and keeping your social circle as small as possible.
    • We have established the possibility for university students who are self-isolating to watch the lectures afterwards using EEK live. The lecturer decides on the transmission and recording of a particular subject. Detailed information can be found in the study information system (ÕIS) under the particular subject.
    • When arriving on the university premises, please disinfect your hands and wash your hands regularly with warm water and soap while at the university.
    • Please double-check your contact information that you provided to the school in the study information system, so if necessary, we can contact you and register your attendance at classes using your handwritten signature.
